The Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) deadline for submission of affidavits by lawmakers affirming that they are not holding dual nationality ended on Friday. As many as 18 lawmakers have yet to submit affidavits. According to the ECP sources, the legislators would now be issued notices asking them to explain the reasons for submitting the affidavit.

The members who have not submitted affidavits include, MNAs Maulana Mohammad Qasim, Syed Allaudin, Chaudhry Tassaduq Masood, Syed Tayyeb Hussain, Dr Nadeem Ahsan, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Sabeen Rizvi and Fauzia Aijaz. The senators who failed to meet the deadline are Malik Salahuddin Dogar, Haji Lashkari Raisani and Haji Khan Afridi.
